Cool Off on a Hot Summer Day in Your Hot Tub!

Summer in Colorado, a wonderful season!  Hot, dry days and cool, clear nights.  Your spa can fit right in.  Yes, your hot tub can keep you cool in the summer.  Hot tubs are Colorado swimming pools.  They can be used very effectively to cool off and refresh.  First, adjust the temperature of your spa to 98 degrees.  Anything much lower than 98 degrees will give you a chill in just a few minutes.  At 98 degrees you can relax and enjoy your spa for an extended period of time.  It will feel warm as you get in, but in just a few minutes you will begin to feel cooler.  After all your body's normal temp is 98.6 degrees, so water temperatures under that are cooling.

Now grab a good book, a hat with a visor, and sun glasses.  Relax and experience the gradual cooling that takes place.  You can spend longer periods of time using your spa with the temperature set at 98 degrees.  This leads to a deeper cooling than .....say taking a cool shower.  The effects of a shower are short lived because the cooling is quick and more shallow.  A shower cools you off on the outside, but does not effectively lower your core temperature.  That's why its' cooling doesn't last.  Using your spa at moderated temperatures allows you to use it longer.  You'll feel cool and refreshed for hours.  So go ahead, on a hot day, use your hot tub, to cool off!
